Counter-Strike (more commonly known as CS) is an online, multi-player, tactical first-person shooter video game which originated from a Half-Life modification (Mod) by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess "Cliffe" Cliffe.
While the game has expanded wildy beyond even this third party mod, the only version that the TX MOJO Clan is associated with is the one often referred to as CS 1.6, therefore these help pages will also focus on that particular Mod.
The basic premise for the game is that the player is pushed into duty with either a team of Terrorists (T) or Counter-Terrorists (CT).
The Terrorists job is to take and keep a small number of hostages under their control, bomb a target of value or assassinate a VIP. The Counter-Terrorist job is to foil those plans with as least amount of harm coming to the VIP, hostages or property as possible.
Both sides of this conflict are armed with knives, handguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles and other assorted equipment....the only thing missing is the kitchen sink and a thermonuclear warhead.
Once the game starts, both teams join the game in areas called spawns where they are allowed to purchase weapons and assorted equipment that will, hopefully, aid them in vanquishing their foes.
In the CS(Hostage Rescue) family of maps, the Terrorists spawn in areas that have hostages to watch over, in DE(Bomb/Defuse) type maps, one Terrorist spawns with a block of C4 with a timer attached that must be stratigically placed so as to blow up a target of value.
In the AS(Assassination) family of maps, the CTs are tasked with escorting a VIP who is being hunted down by the T's....you can't allow that to happen.
